We are a volunteer organization of prostate cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers serving residents of Durham Region in Ontario, which includes the municipalities of Ajax, Bowmanville, Oshawa, Pickering, Whitby, Brock, Clarington, Scugog and Uxbridge, with a mission to “INFORM, support and advocate for men living with prostate cancer, as well as their caregivers; and to raise awareness of prostate cancer in the community by pro-active participation in local events and programs.”
Please see Events for a connection to the master calendar of events / presentations and group meetings on-line and Newsfor interesting prostate cancer related reading materials.
We hold meetings on the first Wednesday of the month (excluding: January, July, and August) at the Woodview Community Centre, 151 Cadillac Avenue NORTH in Oshawa (Map) – See Events. Four meetings feature health care professionals and related speakers. These speaker meetings alternate with four member forums where members share their experiences and address questions with other participants. We also hold a pot-luck social meeting in December for members and their adult families and friends to celebrate and socialize together.
